The University of Washington School of Medicine Alumni Association is pleased to announce a new opportunity to recognize alumni through our Distinguished Alumni Awards.

The Alumni Research Impact Award recognizes alumni whose outstanding research contributions have advanced knowledge, improved care, influenced policy or practice, or otherwise made a significant impact on science, healthcare, or society.

This award reflects UW Medicine’s deep commitment to research and collaboration in pursuit of better health for all. Whether through pioneering discoveries, translational research, public health advancements, or interdisciplinary partnerships, recipients will represent the far-reaching impact of the UW School of Medicine community.

We invite you to help recognize alumni whose research is shaping the future and improving lives worldwide. Nominations for 2027 awardees are due by December 31.

What does the nomination process entail?

• Completion of the online nomination form (3-4 questions; limited to 500-word response for each)
• Nominee’s CV is optional
• 2 Letters of Support
  • One letter can come from the same person who completes the nomination form (this allows for more personal narrative)
  • Jointly signed/endorsed letters are welcome
