This Year's Keynote Speaker: Tina Albertson, MD, PhD
keynote speaker Tina Albertson

Tina is a Chief Medical officer developing novel drugs for cancer patients.  She is a pediatric oncologist by training and earned her MD from Stanford University and completed a clinical fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. She earned her BS in molecular biology from the University of Oregon and her PhD here at UW in the department of Pathology under the advisement of Dr. Brad Preston.

Tina transitioned from academic medicine to an industry career more than 15 years ago to transform outcomes for cancer patients as a population rather than one patient at a time. She has spent 15 years leading the development of cellular therapies and biologics for hematologic cancers. She led the global drug development that led to FDA approval of Breyanzi (lisocabtagene maraleucel), one of the first CAR T-cell therapies for B-cell lymphoma, at Juno Therapeutics in Seattle.

She is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Caribou Biosciences, a biotechnology company developing off-the-shelf, CRISPER edited, allogeneic cellular therapies for lymphoma and myeloma.  She is responsible for strategic leadership of the company’s clinical programs and the clinical, regulatory, translational research and medical affairs functions.
