Affinity Groups are social and informal organizations that amplify and celebrate the experiences of individuals with a common historically excluded identity. The Affinity Groups are open to all interested graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

These groups were formed by students and postdocs in an effort to create community, provide brave spaces, and foster interactions between people with shared interests and experiences. The activities, initiatives, and events are determined by the student members and student facilitators.

The Affinity Groups are sponsored administratively by the UW School of Medicine Office of Research & Graduate Education (RGE), and co-supported by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Office of Education and Training, and the UW Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) program.

If you are interested in participating in one of the active affinity groups, please subscribe to their email list below. If you would like more information about the affinity groups, if you would like to start a new group, or if you are interested in serving as a facilitator for one of the groups, please reach out to somevent@uw.edu.
