Intro to Creating Biosketches in SciENcv
The NIH’s upcoming integration of the NIH Common Form will require grant applicants to prepare and certify their biographical sketches (or “biosketches”) using the SciENcv researcher profile platform. This session will provide an overview of SciENcv, including walking through creating a profile, linking it to researchers’ ORCID profiles, connecting to key publications in PubMed and other databases, assigning delegates, and completing the various narrative sections.
No required pre-work for this session, but you may benefit from reviewing the 2024 session of Biosketch 101: Getting (Grant Reviewers) to Know You. We will aim to offer additional trainings in early 2026 connected to the new biosketch forms.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe SciENcv’s role in the upcoming NIH biosketch requirement
- Connect a SciENcv profile to researchers’ ORCID and publications
- Complete the required narrative biosketch sections in SciENcv

About the Speaker
Michael T. Moore is the Grants & Special Projects Librarian at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library. In that role, he has helped support the writing, submission, and ongoing management of various Health Sciences Library grants, including those with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Library of Medicine (NLM), and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Before arriving at UW in 2017, Michael served in communication, collection development, and grant writing roles with the McGill University Library and Archives in Montreal, Canada.
