Pacific Northwest Research Institute: Science Matters Seminar with Dan Doherty, MD, PhD

You’re invited to PNRI’s Science Matters seminar on Wednesday, October 8, 12:00–1:00pm PT on Zoom.
What’s up under the tentorium? Human hindbrain malformations! with Dan Doherty, MD, PhD
This seminar will explore how the human hindbrain develops and what happens when things go awry. Dr. Doherty will walk through imaging of normal and abnormal hindbrain anatomy, provide an overview of conditions linked to hindbrain malformations, and take a deeper look at the genetics and mechanisms underlying Joubert syndrome.
This virtual event will include Dr. Doherty’s presentation plus Q&A with the audience.
PNRl’s Science Matters seminars highlight exciting research in genetics, genomics, and evolutionary biology with important societal impact. Topics include research on the genetics of ethnically diverse populations, diseases afflicting vulnerable or underserved groups, and efforts to expand the diversity (broadly defined) of research subjects or the scientific workforce. The seminars are open to the scientific community, and anyone interested in learning more about genetics.
