Biography

Julie is a scientifically-trained business strategist with ~10 years of combined experience in the life sciences & biotech. She has held a diverse set of professional roles spanning equity research at a bulge bracket bank to entrepreneurship, with concentrations in immuno-oncology, synthetic biology, and regenerative medicine.

Julie previously led a global accelerator for life sciences startups tackling our hardest problems. After catching the entrepreneurial bug, she served as an entrepreneur-in-residence, building a synbio-based drug discovery platform. Julie is currently on the sales and commercial development team at RoosterBio, which delivers products and services to accelerate the translation of stem cell and exosome-based therapeutics into the clinic.

Julie received her PhD in 2017 from NYU School of Medicine. In this seminar, she will discuss her circuitous path to finding the right career fit, the skills and learnings gleaned from diverse roles in the biopharma industry, and tips for what you can do now to prepare for a non-academic career.
