Deadline: Well-Being Grants
December 10
UW Medicine is pleased to announce our second year of awarding Well-Being Grants. Does your breakroom need a makeover? How about a team-building activity for your hardworking peers? Could your department use a meditation or yoga break? Then apply for a Well-Being Grant!
These grants – made possible thanks to a generous donation of $250,000 – are provided to support the well-being of our community. Faculty, staff and trainees across UW Medicine (inclusive of administrative, clinical, education and research areas) are encouraged to apply for grants to fund activities, projects and process improvements that support well-being goals. While the spring 2024 Well-Being Survey demonstrated increased scores for professional fulfillment and decreases in burnout, more work must be done. Grants can be used to make meaningful changes at a local level.
In 2024, Well-Being Grants supported over 200 projects, including:
- Projects that fostered equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), such as a free market stocked with essentials and an EDI book club for dieticians.
- Team-care projects, including Qigong classes and emergency department “breaking bread” dinners.
- Arts and humanities activities, such as creative writing and art classes
Applications for well-being grants will open on Oct. 29 and close on Dec. 10. Recipients will be notified in the spring of 2025. Award amounts will range from $500 to $5000.
