Every year, students from across disciplines work together during this “idea-athon” to dream up digital solutions to pressing problems in the healthcare system. Participants receive valuable feedback on their ideas from stakeholders and changemakers in the field and also have the chance to participate in a Pitch Challenge at the end of the workshop with the chance to win a prize for Best Pitch! All teams also receive information on continuing resources to turn their solutions into entries for the 2026 Health Innovation Challenge and other Buerk Center competitions.

Open to all UW undergraduate and graduate students interested in computer science, life sciences, healthcare, or entrepreneurship. No prior programming experience or pre-existing solution idea necessary.
