Bill Mahoney, PhD is the Associate Dean for Research Education & Training in the Office of Research & Graduate Education. He is also an Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology, where he serves as the Director of the Molecular Medicine & Mechanisms of Disease (M3D) PhD Program.
Bill has a long-standing interest in professional development, focusing on graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty at UW. For more than 20 years at UW, he led a cardiovascular development and regeneration research group in the Center for Cardiovascular Biology (CCB) and the Institute for Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine (ISCRM), before serving as the Associate Dean for Graduate Student & Postdoctoral Affairs with the UW Graduate School.
As Associate Dean for Research Education & Training, Bill works to provide holistic educational, research, and career professional development support for graduate students and programs, as well as postdoctoral fellows and training faculty across the School of Medicine.
