Elia Tait Wojno, PhD serves as the Director of Mentor Education in the Office of Research and Graduate Education (RGE) and an Associate Professor of Immunology.
As a researcher and educator, Elia is passionate about training the next generation of scientists. In 2023, she completed the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) Training in facilitating the Entering Mentoring curricula. Elia works closely with the UW Medicine Vice Dean for for RGE, the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs, and the Senior Vice President for Education at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC). She has a primary focus on the development and implementation of a new, CIMER-based mentor education program to be deployed across the many environments where research trainees are mentored. The program is also implemented in collaboration with the UW Medicine Office of Healthcare Equity (OHCE) as well as our many affiliate partners engaged in research training at FHCC and Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI).
