Do you have student loan debt? Do you conduct biomedical or behavioral research?

If you answered YES to both questions, you may be eligible for an NIH loan repayment award (LRP)! An NIH grant is NOT required to apply for an LRP award. Your research must be funded by a domestic nonprofit or U.S. government (federal, state, or local) entity. Awardees can receive up to $100,000 of qualified educational debt repayment with a two-year award.

Of note, you do NOT need to route a UW internal eGC1 to participate. If your research funding is administered by another institution (such as Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center), that institution should verify your application. The NIH Loan Repayment Programs application deadline is 11/19/2026.
