Margo Cousins, MA serves at the Director of the Office of Research & Graduate Education (RGE).
As the director, Margo holds primary responsibility for operationalization of policies and contributes to the planning and implementation of new initiatives led by the Vice Dean. She works collaboratively in a heavily interdisciplinary context to facilitate support for the research enterprise and research training environment, including non-academic policies affecting the employment and training of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Margo has over 20 years’ experience working in higher education, primarily at the department-level in direct support of biomedical research faculty, students, and staff. She is passionate about providing School of Medicine departments with resources and guidance to achieve our collective goals in research and graduate education. She holds a Master of Arts in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University, and a bachelor’s in biology from Washington State University.
